The fig is the emblematic fruit of the Mediterranean aera. The variety of figs selected for the Confiture of TYPIK Fig & Ginger Jam is the fleshy fig of Chebba. Full of sunshine, it is known for its sweet and tangy flavours. Our preparers know that one of the secrets to this jam is to penetrate the sugar in the heart of the fruit. The reason why they have developed several stages of preparation and alternate different levels of cooking to deliver a jam with a creamy texture. The spicy flavour of ginger adds a sparkling touch to our jam, to which is simply added fruit pectin and lemon.

The variety of Chebba figs – PGI, comes from the production of a few farmers. In order to avoid fruit disintegration in the cooking, the figs are picked at just ripe to preserve all their aromas and all their sweet flavors. They offer excellent levels of minerals, fiber and antioxidant compounds. Ginger adds a lot of pep to TYPIK Fig & Ginger Jam while offering real health benefits: good for the liver, the heart, it even has slimming properties.

GOURMET TIPS:

• Our gourmet invites you to taste delicious sweet-savoury tartines with very delicious autumnal flavours. In a small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of the TYPIK Fig & Ginger Jam with 1 teaspoon of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of balsamic vinegar, a little finely chopped cilantro and a teaspoon of pineapple syrup. Choose large slices of country bread and arrange the brie slices. Brown in a very hot oven (200°) for 5mn and then spread the previous mixture over. Serve with a young shoots salad sprinkled with a simple drizzle of olive oil.

• TYPIK Fig & Ginger Jam is ideal for express chicken with fig and ginger. For 4 people, brown chicken breasts cut into small pieces. Fry 2 finely chopped onions in a little olive oil with 1 clove of crushed garlic. Add a chicken stock and a glass of dry white wine. Coat the golden chicken with the Jam and add it to the onions. Cook over low heat, covered, for 1 hour, adding water if necessary. Season with salt and pepper at the end of cooking. Serve with pilaf rice.
